Equine-assisted Experiential Learning (outbound programs)

Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) is a learner-based educational experience with horses where participants engage in specially designed educational exercises and find themselves learning valuable life skills in a fun and exciting atmosphere while working with horses.

Why Horses?

  1. Horses mirror humans in their behaviour
  2. They have a keen ability to detect intention and authenticity in people
  3. The have proven to be able to detect positive and negative human emotions based on facial expressions, body language and scent
  4. They provide unfiltered and honest feedback
  5. Horse herd dynamics are much like human group / community dynamics

Development of Critical Thinking and Emotional Intelligence are the greatest benefits of EFL when applied to Transformational Leadership.

Having worked alongside man for centuries, horses have much for us to learn from. Their basic instincts as prey animals, the herd hierarchy of horses, as well as horse-to-horse communication and relationships are very similar to those of humans, and thus horses become instant mirrors providing non-judgmental feedback to humans.

When people experience the observation of a horse’s response to their requests or directions, each person learns how to communicate more effectively, manage emotions and become more consistent and clear with their intent and actions.

Moreover, one gets a tremendous confidence boost when learning to connect with a 500 KG animal while standing on the ground!

Our sessions with horses are both interactive and observational, and give ‘in the moment’ learning feedback which is difficult to acquire in a traditional classroom setting.

These sessions are facilitated by Subhadra Cherukuri, our founder who is a certified Horse Assisted Educator based on the HorseDream® concept from EAHAE, who combines her knowledge of horses with her experience as a former management consultant, in order to create unique learning experiences for corporates and schools.
